A campaign sign is a legal document with a name on it.

Why we exist

Campaign signs get quoted as a unit price on a quantity, by printers who treat the disclaimer as a footer.

So it ends up too small to read, or carries a committee name that does not match what was registered. Two thousand signs get ordered before anyone has worked out where they may legally stand. The artwork carries three lines when it should carry one. And the ship date is a range, on an order for a date that cannot move.

The disclaimer comes first

Campaign material generally has to say who paid for it, and the exact wording, the minimum type size and what counts as conspicuous are set by your jurisdiction — not by us and not by a template.

So we ask for the committee’s registered name exactly as filed, set the disclaimer at a size that will still be legible on the finished sign, and put it on the proof at actual size for you to approve in writing. We will not invent a disclaimer, and where we do not know a state’s rule we will tell you to confirm it with your election authority rather than guess.

Placement is law, not strategy

Right-of-way setbacks, sight lines at junctions, the window of days before and after an election in which signs may stand, and written permission on private property all decide where a sign may legally be.

Which is why we say the same thing to everyone: settle placement before quantity. A thousand signs with nowhere legal to stand is a thousand signs in a garage, and signs pulled by a road crew are a total loss.

The date cannot move

An election date is fixed, so lead time is the real risk and the unit price is a secondary question. We put a ship date in writing and tell you the artwork cut-off that protects it.

We also push everybody to order a replacement buffer. Signs are taken, flipped and blown down in the last fortnight, entries into the plan creep, and no campaign can re-order into a deadline.

Signs do not vote

A sign programme buys name recognition and the look of momentum. It does not persuade anybody on its own, and a good placement plan is worth more than a bigger pile of signs.

That is why the layout advice is always the same: the name, big, and almost nothing else. A sign gets about a second from a moving car, and every extra line steals height from the one thing that has to be remembered.

And they have to come down

Most jurisdictions set a removal window after the election, and the take-down is part of the job rather than an afterthought.

So we label cartons by ward, keep a record of what went where, and quote the retrieval alongside the print. It is the cheapest goodwill a campaign can buy and the easiest thing to forget in November.
